HOW DOES IT WORK?

Plasma is a heat based treatment that causes instant contraction of loose skin on the surface and a thermal disruption in the deeper dermal layers of the skin. During treatment tiny micro wounds are made on the surface of the skin which heal in the form a tiny scab. The body is then lead into a wound healing response and begins to produce mass amounts of collagen in order to repair the treatment area. This process continues for 12 weeks, fixing the damage caused by the ageing process at the same time. Once completely healed you will be left with brand new rejuvenated skin in the treatment area.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME OR RECOVERY?

Yes, there is a little bit of down time with plasma fibroblast. You will need around 5-10 days down time depending on the treatment you have. Plasma creates small dry scabs on the surface of the skin which need to dry up and flake away naturally in order to heal correctly. You may also experience some swelling for the first few days and look a little red which is all very normal. At lacey Aesthetics we recommend a clean dry heal so you must not use any products on the treatment area including makeup until the scabs have cleared. Once clear you can use make up and products once again.

WHO IS A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?

Generally, the plasma treatment is good for men and women aged 30 and up although in some cases late 20s may be considered. Plasma is generally suitable for skin types 1-3 on the Fitzpatrick scale. Sometimes skin type 4 will be considered, however a patch test is required for this skin type. There are some contraindications to the treatment such as use of certain medications or having certain medical conditions. A consultation is always required to determine suitability and the best treatment plan for you.

DOES IT HURT?

Plasma is a thermal treatment and so a minimal element of discomfort can be felt during and after the procedure. We do always use a topical anaesthetic cream which numbs the area before treating to minimise any discomfort.

IS IT SAFE?

We use a state-of-the-art German manufactured device which is CE approved and completely safe to use on the skin. There is very little risk when having a plasma treatment with us at Lacey Aesthetics. You must always follow the correct aftercare protocol provided to you by your practitioner in order to ensure a safe and effective treatment and healing process. Failure to do so may lead to complication and or poor or inadequate results.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

The results can last years, of course this depends on the skin & lifestyle of the individual.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

One treatment is sufficient enough to see extremely good results however where the skin is excessively loose a second treatment may be needed.

A LITTLE BIT OF SCIENCE.

An electrical energy is emitted from a probe at the end of a pen like, hand held device. When this energy is emitted, a reaction is caused just above the surface of the skin between nitrogen & oxygen, creating plasma. The plasma arc is emitted onto the surface of the skin causing an instant contraction of loose skin while causing a thermal disruption in the dermis. In turn collagen production is stimulated. Collagen remodells the damaged tissues caused by the ageing process.
